Doris barely earns enough to pay for Damiano's medications and medical care in Ecuador, let alone for her living expenses in Italy. When she asked me to help her write a letter about Damiano's ordeals, we decided to set up this page.
I have known Doris from church for many years. She is a courageous mother, and a faithful Christian. She has a university degree from Ecuador, but she decided to travel a long way from home and take on a menial job in Europe to provide for her son's medical needs. I had never been made aware of Damiano's condition, probably because Doris is too embarassed to tell about the ordeal she faces with his medical condition. She is such a humble and coureageous mother that she even offered to pay for whatever word processing work I would do for her. I obviously turned down the offer.
As the owner of the One Shot Design Network, I felt it was the right thing to do to set up a website telling about Damiano's story, in case the Lord touches your heart to help Doris and her parents get him to Italy, where he can be operated on with a chance of significant results.
What is our goal?
To put it simply, we need to collect enough funds to help Doris with the following:
- Fly Damiano to Italy.
- Afford accommodations where Damiano will be able to rest before and after the heavy surgery.
- Cover the cost of surgery, hospital stay and medications.
